A Hot Day’s Journey

It was a hot, summer day and the sun was beating down mercilessly. sweat was pouring down my face and I was panting for breath. I desperately needed a break, but I didn’t want to stop. I knew that if I did, I might never start again.

I forced myself to keep going, but my body was rebelling. Finally, I couldn’t take it anymore and I had to pause. I leaned against a tree, gasping for breath. I felt like I might collapse if I didn’t rest for a few minutes.

As I stood there, trying to catch my breath, I heard a noise. It sounded like someone was running. I wondered if I should hide, but then I heard someone calling my name.

It was my friend, Sarah. She had come to look for me. I was relieved and happy to see her. We hugged each other and then started walking home.

It was a good thing she had come when she did. I don’t know what would have happened if she hadn’t found me. I was so grateful that she was there for me.
