Lunchtime Chaos

It was the middle of lunch rush and the line was wrapped around the block. But, hour after hour, the line only seemed to get longer. The walk-up window was swamped with people trying to order and the staff was getting overwhelmed. Finally, the manager made the announcement that they were only taking orders for the next hour through the drive-thru.

As the last person in line placed their order, they noticed the menu board was empty. “What’s going on?” They asked the worker. “We’re all out of food.” The worker looked exhausted. “We’ve been running out of food all day. The lunch rush has been too much for us to handle.”

The customer was shocked. They had never seen anything like this before. All they could do was wait in line and hope that the restaurant would be able to restock before their turn came up.
