A Hot Day’s Shopping

It was a hot day and the last thing I wanted was to have to go out to the store for more groceries. But our refrigerator was empty and we needed food. I gathered up my coupons and headed to the store.

I was in luck and found a parking spot right in front of the store. I went inside and got a shopping cart. I started down the first aisle and was putting things in my cart when I heard someone behind me.

“Hey, lady! Watch out!”

I turned around just in time to see a man pushing a shopping cart towards me. The next thing I knew, I was on the floor with the contents of my cart spilled around me.

“Are you okay?” The man asked.

“I think so,” I said, getting up. “But my groceries are a mess!”

“I’m so sorry,” the man said. “Let me help you.”

He helped me gather up my things and then he pushed my cart to the checkout for me.

“Thank you so much,” I said. “You really saved my day.”

“No problem,” he said. “Just be more careful next time.
