Write a scene in which your protagonist must punish someone s/he knows is innocent.
My heart sinks as I enter the room and see the person I must punish. I know they are innocent, but it is my duty to carry out the sentence. I approach them with a heavy heart and a feeling of dread.
The person looks at me with fear in their eyes, and I can see the terror in their face. They try to plead with me, but I am firm. I must do what is right, even if it is hard.
I raise my hand and deliver the punishment, feeling the person’s body tense in pain. They cry out, but I do not falter. I must see this through to the end.
When it is over, I walk away with a sense of sadness and regret. I know I have done what is required of me, but I cannot help but feel remorse for the pain I have caused.
