It was the day before Thanksgiving and all across the country, people were hurriedly finishing up their last-minute shopping. In the midst of all the chaos, one small act of kindness was about to take place.
At the local grocery store, a woman was standing in line with her two young children. She was desperately trying to keep them entertained while also trying to juggle all of her groceries. The line was moving slowly and she was starting to get frustrated.
Suddenly, the child in the front of her started to cry. The mother behind her, who had been watching the situation unfold, reached over and handed the woman a lollipop. The woman was so touched by this act of kindness that she started to cry herself.
She turned to the woman and said, “Thank you so much. This was exactly what I needed.”
The woman smiled and replied, “It’s the thought that counts.”
