The Jittery First Day of School
It was the first day of school and Ava was feeling jittery. She had just moved to a new town and was starting at a new school. Ava didn’t know anyone, and she was nervous about making new friends.
As she walked towards her classroom, Ava could feel her heart racing. Her palms were sweaty and she couldn’t stop fidgeting with her backpack straps. She took a deep breath and tried to calm her nerves. “You got this,” she whispered to herself.
When Ava walked into the classroom, she was greeted by a sea of unfamiliar faces. She felt a wave of anxiety wash over her. But then, a friendly girl named Emily introduced herself and invited Ava to sit next to her.
Ava was relieved to have made a new friend so quickly, but as soon as the teacher started talking, her jittery feelings came rushing back. She couldn’t concentrate on anything the teacher was saying, and her mind kept wandering.
At recess, Ava and Emily went out to the playground, where Ava’s nerves seemed to melt away. She was able to relax and have fun playing games with her new friends. By the end of the day, Ava felt like she had made a successful start to a new school year.
From that day on, Ava still felt a little jittery at the thought of school, but she knew that she had made some great friends who would always be there to support her.
