A Day in Nature

The sky was a deep blue,
the sun was a bright orange,
and the grass was a beautiful green.

We went on a lovely traipse
through the woods and the fields,
and we couldn’t have asked for a better day.

The fresh air was invigorating,
the scenery was gorgeous,
and we just had the best time.

The sound of shattering glass woke her from a deep sleep. groggily, she got up, trying to orient herself in the dark. She could make out the broken window and the shards of glass strewn across the floor. And then she saw it. Lying in the middle of the room, its blank eyes staring up at her, was a human skull.
